A message from Dame Angela McLean, Head of GSE Profession and Government Chief Scientific Adviser

“As Government Chief Scientific Adviser and Head of the GSE Profession, I am delighted to introduce this year’s Professional Recognition Week which will take place from Monday 8 December to Friday 12 December.
This year, we’re celebrating the value of becoming professionally recognised and why it matters for all members of the GSE Profession, including our affiliates and those in cross-discipline roles.
Gaining registered or chartered status with a professional science or engineering organisation is a powerful way to gain structured development through Continuing Professional Development (CPD), strengthen your professional identity, and connect with a wider network of peers.
I am strongly committed to supporting all GSE members to pursue professional recognition and if you’ve ever wondered whether it is for you, this is the perfect time to explore it.”
