GSE Opportunities: Grow from your STEM and complete the RAEng/WES engineering census.

Grow from your STEM, BEIS Conference Centre

After the success of last year’s STEM outreach event we’re doing it again! Working with colleagues from Defra and Ofgem, the Women’s Network have organised an all-day event for girls in Year 9 or 10 to introduce them to the diversity of careers enjoyed by studying STEM subjects as well as some of the skills they will need to progress their careers.

We are looking for women volunteers to help out with communications, speaker liaison, schools liaison, set up, registration and ad hoc help. We may also need help running some workshops in the afternoon. If you have a STEM background and this something you’d like to be involved in, please get in touch.

For further information about the event and volunteering opportunities please contact Victoria Boyes.

Event date: Thursday 21st November

Engineering Census, Royal Academy for Engineering (RAEng) and Women’s Engineering Society (WES).

Are engineers reaching their career goals or are they encountering barriers and challenges? What do they need to enable them to succeed in their career? Are they making exactly the progress they want? Importantly how do their experiences differ? Do male and female engineers have different experiences?

Engineers completing this survey will help WES and the Royal Academy of Engineering gather information about how engineers across different industries are progressing in their careers in the UK. With a significant skills gap in engineering, it is imperative that qualified and capable engineers are supported sufficiently to allow them to reach their true potential.

It is important we achieve a high response rate among engineers from across all roles and sectors in the UK. Please take the census and share the link among your friends, and current and former colleagues.

The survey is anonymous and should only take about 15 mins of your time.

Complete the survey on the engineering census website.

Closing Date: Wednesday 6th November
