Leadership in Tomorrow’s World: Foundation Future Leaders Conference 2022
Tuesday 1st November 2022; 9:00am – 4:00pm
Glaziers Hall, 9 Montague Close, London SE1 9DD or Online via Zoom
The major challenges confronting society do not have simple resolutions. They are multi-faceted and long term, requiring cross-cutting analysis with the ability to work across traditional divides and develop innovative approaches. This conference will look at how these problems, such as climate and biodiversity, can be addressed, as well as examining the skills and structures needed to deliver. Designed specifically for early- to mid-career professionals in the civil and wider public service – as well as in industry and the research community – this conference will discuss these issues, with panellists drawn from senior leaders and the Future Leaders Programme of the Foundation for Science and Technology.
The Conference will focus on three sessions:
- Science and Technology – Tackling the Big Picture
- Net Zero – Meeting the Challenge
- Careers & Leadership in Science & Technology
Speakers for the conference include:
- Professor Sir Adrian Smith FRS, President of the Royal Society and Director of the Alan Turing Institute
- Tamara Finkelstein, Permanent Secretary, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
