Learning & Development: Royal Society 'Future of Research' workshop
The Royal Society is running a Future of Research Culture project. On 27th September they will be running a workshop with the Government Science and Engineering (GSE) profession to get insights from government scientists and engineers on the future of research culture. The workshop is 10:00-13:00 with lunch provided and a tour of the Royal Society’s archive included.

Vacancy: Private Secretary to the Chief Scientific Advisor (CSA), BEIS
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to join the private office for BEIS’ Chief Scientific Advisor (CSA), Professor John Loughhead. The successful candidate will be one of the CSA's Private Secretaries, working closely, day to day with him and his Head of Office, advising them, helping set priorities, helping the CSA achieve his and BEIS' objectives and ensuring he has impact inside and outside BEIS. You will engage regularly with senior staff in BEIS and gain insight into the full range of BEIS’ business, working at the interface between science and policy.

Learning & Development: Panellist for Careers Event, University of Bath
The University of Bath are holding an ‘Alternative Careers in Science’ panel event taking place on Thursday 16th November (6.30-8pm).
The idea of the event is to have a panel of speakers showcasing different roles available to students from the Faculty of Science such as data science, supply chain, policy and science communication. We will ask each panellist to speak for about 10 minutes and the evening will end with a Q&A session. The event will be held on campus in Bath and the audience would be Undergraduate and Postgraduate students.
