Learning Opportunity: Briefing writing course from ModGov
On Wednesday 14th December, Understanding ModernGov will be hosting a one day interactive communications workshop on Effective Briefings & Submissions in London.
This communication skills course will provide guidance for civil servants who have to write briefings and submissions as part of their workload with strategy on how to explain complex information simply for the benefit of effective decision making.
This course will be led by communications expert Susan Calthorpe who has previously delivered public sector communication development courses to Home Office, NHS England, Department for Transport, Defra, and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, among others.
Vacancy: Secretariat Support to the Animals in Science Committee. Scientific /Executive Officer (CAST)
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a rapidly evolving, high profile, and challenging area at the interface between independent expert science advice and policy. The post involves engagement with a diverse range of stakeholders including the Home Office’s Animals in Science Regulation Unit (ASRU), ASRU Inspectors, Ministerial private offices, other government departments and leading scientific, veterinary and ethics experts. Vacancy: SPTO Electronic Radio Communications/EMC Engineer (CAST)
Deadline extended: The successful candidate will be assigned to the Electronics and Electrical Engineering Functional Home in CAST’s Delivery area. This specialist technical role is responsible for independently maintaining and promoting links with the emergency services vehicle convertor; maintaining links with EMC test-houses and advising on testing vehicles/equipment for the emergency services; providing technical radio comms, installation and EMC advice on development implementation and use of technological systems.
